Lower Front Bumper Air Grill

Post by RS6Rottweiler » Thu Nov 12, 2020 12:14 am

Looking for some help to find a replacement lower Front Bumper Air Grill in Black - Part No: 4B3807647G 5PV. I accidentally hit a high kerb stone which cracked the lower part of the bumper and the beading around the lower grill must have fell off and I didn't realise until too late. I have tried to source a new one but this part appears to be like Rocking Horse Pooh so I'm wondering if anyone has either got any ideas where I could get a replacement even if it is an aftermarket or does anyone have a spare lying around that they would consider selling or lastly anyone know of an option to replace the beading and if so where I could get some?

I would even take the chrome version if anyone knows where I could source one or has one they would be willing to sell.

I had the same issue but was lucky enough to source a second hand one from Steve Green (07835 176599).

Not the price tag you want to see next to this part but not surprising as they’re NLA.

Cheers Chris A, thanks, that must have just come up on Ebay as i've been looking regularly but that's about a £100 mark up on new price for a second hand part, robbing so and so. There was one including the two lower side grills for £199 but was snapped up quickly, I stupidly didn't go for it because I did need the two side grills, what a numpty 🤪.

If you see that again - do it. The side grilles are equally hard to get and quite fragile. To the extent that even though I managed to get a new old stock one a few months back, I have kept my old damaged one since, if pushed, I could repair and reuse it.

Give Steve a call. He normally sells the bumper complete but you might be lucky and find he’s got a damaged bumper that he’s breaking. 😉

I would be very careful buying parts from Steve green, I paid £250 for a headlight two months back, still no headlight no refund and no tracking numbers, but loads of excuses, I've now got the hassle of trying to get my money back through trading standards etc.

Grizz at Unit 20 is breaking a car. Might be worth a call to Unit 20 ?

Thanks mark (if message was meant for me). My car is still at local VAG/MOT center after failing on unstable headlight, top fixings are fine but bottom two are broke, the boys at the garage think they can get repair kit but I'm not so sure, I've owned car for three years and only noticed when I replaced intercoolers in first lockdown. Sorry to hyjack thread.

Can’t be too hard to fix.

Thanks Shop, fingers crossed. Quick question for you if you don't mind, I'm getting -6 & -5 on channel 93, would this indicate chain stretch, belt stretch (belt has done 10,000 over two years engine has covered 75,000) or poor workmanship?

Nah, they don’t stretch, at least not that much I don’t think. Certainly not over that interval.

Still just about in spec though. Sounds like a Tippex job.
