It always starts with brakes, then you get braver until eventually you're doing a clutch.

I've got one of these:

But if you're good with fiddly things and a tiny flat blade screwdriver, you might be OK.

Yes, lift was part of the garage build a while ago, wanted a double garage but could not find somewhere to put it that did not block off part of the house so built a 1.5 garage (wider and longer) but went high so I could fit one on top of the other. You don’t need to fix the ramp and comes with a caster set so you can just move it about - pretty handy to have fur tinkering and actually a lot cheaper that building a double wide garage too!

What height do you need?

And is that a box for a pizza oven?

I lucked in with the height, the garage was supposed to be 3 blocks higher but looked ridiculous when being built so told them to leave at that height - turns out I have about 4 inches clearance when ramp fully up (with the cars, would not fit 2 with the Q7).
It’s a sloping flat roof so starts off about 13ft but about 11 1/2 where the car is. No issue with size or weight though
Yes it’s a pizza over, I do love a gadget - went for the ooni pro but on reflection would just buy gas (ooni koda?) - bloody brilliant! Goes well with my Perfect Draft (beer on tap) but less good for the waistline.....

Very cool. I've got an electric one like this:

Makes absolutely delicious pizzas. Here's one I made earlier. I've not mastered the art of making them round yet:

Good job the base is such a faff to make or I'd be the size of a house.

I’m more or a “rustic” pizza man myself 👍🏻 Think it’s time to stock up on mozzarella and cured meat for another month of lockdown 😖

Yeah, same here. I've got a bit of mozza in the freezer but could use some more.

The one in that photo is smoked bacon rashers, mozza, double Gloucester, onion and tomato. The slices of tomato give a juicy rush. Recommend. The double Gloucester works surprisingly well.

You got a good recipe for the base? I'm still experimenting.

Might have gone off topic slightly.

Would you guys recommend the Ooni Koda, then?
We got one of those cheap Aldi ones to go on the BBQ in the spring - and we absolutely love it, so are thinking about upgrading to something proper.

Massively off topic but it’s that kinda year!
Shop, it’s all about slow fermentation I have found. I started off buying Caputo flour but it’s stupid expensive over here. Costco have 16kg bags of bravo pizza flour for under £20 and its spot on - link for dough but I have made in the morning and used in the afternoon and still good https://youtu.be/HkXojFU_LrE the bloke doing it is a bit “topknot” but method is sound
Matt, defo recommend Ooni, expensive but well made (even if it is made in china). I liked the idea of multi fuel but having used gas I don’t think I will bother with wood, charcoal or pellets - just hassle and more difficult to control the heat. Gas will get you up to 500 degrees in 20 mins tops, will keep a steady temperature and cook your pizza in 60-90 seconds. Looked at the Roccbox which is slightly better value but smaller and Ooni seem to get a bit better review 👍🏻

I am looking at buying a house. Has anyone pulled the engine using a 4 post? I like the idea of a hoist that can be moved around, but don't want to snooker myself when the time comes.

You could drop the engine but would probably be easier hanging the nose off the drive on ramp, i brought the drive on 4 post primarily for parking. If you don’t need the additional storage having one under the other a traditional 2 post would be better and cheaper - you can pick up a 2 poster for £1k or so, just need to be sure you are on the jacking points and would need a reinforced concrete base to sit it on

The problem with the two post is the concrete is not thick enough. It's only 4 inch. I would need to pull it up and start again.
Found another supplier that has a 3 tone scissor hoist with 1800 lift. More expensive but maybe a better option.
