Same here (via Unit 20). Wasn't made aware of the uprated TC though; I'd be interested in learning more as my recon isn't playing nicely atm....I'll give them a call.Mɐʇʇ wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 3:00 pmhttp://www.transcentre.co.uk/ did my box, they were good and did offer an uprated TC too. Obviously I've not spoken to them since 2015 - but I was very happy with their service & knowledge.

Do like those Merc’s! Can I ask why you got rid of the c7?Mr Footlong wrote:Found your "on-hold" PM and replied to it Ric, thanks! I haven't contacted him yet, but after a week of trying to get anything resembling info on what work could be done (or just any replies at all) from a few different international custom box specialists, I got pissed off and bought another car to make sure we were fine come Winter.
Murdered out 2016 Merc GLS 63 AMG, with almost all the options (courtesy of the Russian Mobster owner) and only 22k miles on it. Boxy and bland backside, but will do the job for us for a while.
I don't know what I am doing again now, but when I have some time I will once again weigh things up.
Steps in the right direction mate-Even if there baby ones with angry people behind them!!Mr Footlong wrote:Hi guys. Still want to put her back on the road, the only thing stopping me is the gearbox. After calling Radoslaw at Auto Trans UK once last year, being asked to call him back in a sub-5 second conversation and I never did as I was just too busy to bother trying again, I dropped him an email and text a couple of weeks ago.
I had spoken to a few gearbox places before him last year and they had shut me down pretty rudely within seconds. I called him today funnily enough, got what to me seemed like a fairly short response from him along the lines of not wanting the work, have more than enough work without my awkward old goat. Tired and sick of people saying no, I happened to put the phone down while saying "ffs", didn't even do my usual of at least saying thanks and goodbye etc., regardless of meaning it or not. Hey' it's a Monday, work is a <beep>-show, I have lawyers en-masse with their pitchforks out over our CMS being a stinking pile of crap, I was tired
Radek called me back! He was civil with me, but it almost seemed along the lines of being happy to call me out for a fight! . I apologised, explained to him that I was sick of being told no, am pretty well sick of life in general (usual same BS job stuff that I have moaned about for the last decade or so....) and just want to get the car sorted. I think we talked for the better part of 10 mins about stuff. Apologised a few more times again as I wasn't expecting him to actually be any different from all the others, he wants me to call back at the end of the week and we are going to see what's what.
Still wants to talk through things face-to-face, so despite me being 2m and 130Kg (as I also told him jokingly), he may well be as wide as I am tall and do his best to give me a damn good kick-in . Joking-aside, sounds promising and didn't go how I expected based on him calling me back/out for losing my cool.
The fact that he has been recommended by a few over the years and owned one himself is exactly why I want him to do the work!
Less than a day to get it out I think mate? I’ve had mine out twice now!Mɐʇʇ wrote:Do you fancy having a go at removing the engine & box yourself? Or are you far too busy and need "someone else" to do that?
