Did you have to get an inspection?
I’m insured through Adrain Flux’s, actually both my cars are through them and both are guaranteed value.
The RS was very simple to get the agreed value. I requested the agreed value when asking for a quote, they accepted my valuation upon receiving photos of the car and proof of mileage. It cost and additional couple of quid, around £10.
My 300zx was a bit more detailed. I needed to still do the above but I also had to list all mods along with the price to do the work. I also had to get a report from a specialist I use on the car (however I think any reputable garage might be able to do this). For those of you with modded cars and valued in the £20k this might be the process you need to complete.

I really do rate AF. They’re not the cheapest quotes I got for both cars but their customer service is second to none.

P.s. Sorry for the highjack FootLong.

I have 2 with AF as well.

They link the policies - so if you accidentally list one minor detail for you different between the 2, they proper sting you.
I accidentally put a different job title (both correct, though) on my 2nd policy I got an enforced policy change and £100 charge on the 1st - with an accusation this was because I had lied to them about my job!

A long phone call later and it was sorted - lesson learnt is to be careful on the separate policies even though they are probably with different underwriters.

Both of mine are with Admiral, but seriously tempted to change to a multi car policy instead. Getting rid of the missus car after an MOT fail and get something slightly pokier so insurance is gonna go up.

Does anyone know if you have multi car do you still get 2 lots of NCBs? I’ve currently got 12+ years on 2 separate policies.

I did. In fact, I even managed to get admiral to add me an extra car 12+ NCB once on their multi car. Although that may have been an admin error on their side.

I found eventually that multi car was more expensive than shopping around for the best deal on individual cars. Maybe not so for mainstream stuff, but for my stuff, it’s cheaper with 2x cars in flux and the rest on “whoever”

Insurers can pretty much do what they want. I've been offered 9 years introductory NCB before. Everything can be negotiated. I had good results with Aviva on multicar, but like Matt says, it depends so much on the cars being insured.

But yes, my understanding is that you build up NCB on each car, regardless of whether it's a multicar policy or not.

I forgot to talk about a mod when verbally listing them for the initial quote on the 300zx but did list it when filing my written report. They wanted £75 to change the details with most of that fee being admin. However after saying that I thought that was extortion they dropped their admin fee and I just had to pay around £25 for the alteration. It was a pain but my fault and they felt withit well.

I agree. After a chat, they did fix it with no quibbles....but before chat, I was “WTF”.

I also 100% declare all mods, again, flux seem very reasonable there

I use Primo for multicar. It seems to accrue bonus for more than one vehicle. I've had 6 on it at one time and they offer introductory bonus on the extra cars. I have had multiple policies before.

You can have anything with them from classic to modified to modern normal cars.

They don't generally charge to change details unless that takes you into the next value band for the cars you have.

Watch the small print . Some of them are quite devious so you have to read the policy details carefully. Many insure modified cars but won't pay out for the modifications themselves. You get original car money and nothing more.

Yo Footers! I happened to drive up your road today. The RS might be a little sickly, but it still looks absolutely hard as nails sitting there.

Lol, she just looks tired!

Not having any luck. Getriebeklinik are not responding to any of my correspondence about TC and gearbox uprating options and costs from them, here is the sum total of the replies from sportmile to me, not pasting my emails -

29/09/2020 - "Call to Doug I told him all"

02/10/2020 - "speak with Doug to remove it and then send it to me. Build cost start at about 4000 euro but first I need to see what is going on inside"

Last night - "i have ready gearbox for change, i need yours and payment"

I have not at any point told Sportmile to proceed as I have had no useful information back whatsoever.

I haven't had any additional info back from MRC yet and MRC are not the gearbox beefing specialists, so why is it so hard to give me a vague idea of what they can do and the approx. cost? My bank account is far from infinite and I want to have half a clue what I getting before I am bent over a barrel and lubed up.

http://www.transcentre.co.uk/ did my box, they were good and did offer an uprated TC too. Obviously I've not spoken to them since 2015 - but I was very happy with their service & knowledge.

Thank you very much Jay. I originally emailed info@getriebeklinik.com on 03/10/20 at 07:32 and then gave a quick one line polite nudge just to see if there was any acknowledgement yesterday at 17:23. Sending email address come from mrfootlong@........
