Instrument Cluster
Re: Instrument Cluster
So, would that be the same higher-resolution screen that is used in the "facelift" D2 A8/S8 (from about 1999 to 2002)?
(The original A8/S8 had a simpler lower-resolution version of the DIS)
If so I (and several others) would be very interested as they suffer badly from total fade-out when cold and some get lost pixels.

Re: Instrument Cluster
Amar was looking at getting his display changed to the colour type years ago (must be about 6 years ago now).
When I came from the B6 S4 to the C5, I was slightly disappointed with the C5 display but soon got used to it.

Re: Instrument Cluster
OK, Amar has reappeared on the A8 forum recently after a long dormancy so I'll maybe ask him there if that happened.
I know he's got another S8 recently but I think it's pre-facelift so has a different/simpler DIS.

Re: Instrument Cluster
OK that looks pretty cool but a quick look at the webpage it says "ColorMFA (Color MultiFIS) is a small tuning of the instrument panel adding functionality to the standard instrument panels of cars of group VAG." so what do you not replace the existing DIS?IchBautAuto wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 12:53 amNo, totally different unit, at least from mine. Any other switches not illuminating?steve2003rs6 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 5:06 pmShop. Wiring checked out ok. Noticed that no backlight illumination on the switch as well.
Also the thumbwheel light adjuster works on the dis display. Can fade or increase the intensity
Are all your indicators, sidelights, headlights, hazards working OK?

Re: Instrument Cluster
Yes headlight switch is ok
I missed that in bright sunlight but last night could clearly see it was working.
ESP park aid window switches vanity mirror lights and everything else is ok
Just backlight on cluster
Weird that the same problem on two clusters ?
Good excuse for speeding at night
But officer my lights have just gone out and I cannot see what speed I am doing?

Re: Instrument Cluster
I had a car where the dial lights and rear number plate lights were linked on the same fuse. Can remember what car.
Does the light symbol come on at the dash when the lights are switched on?
