A6 C5 1.8TQ Donor Car - What parts should i keep?

Hi all.

Since the value of the missus 04 A6 1.8TQ is close to nothing, i'm wondering if a part out would be more beneficial than a sale.
A complete sale would give apx £1000,-

Towards a Manual swap i believe i can use the following.
  • Pedal Box
  • Brake booster
  • Master / Clutch cylinder
  • Gear linkage ? (it's a 5 speed)
Any other item that would reduce the purchase list when a manual swap will take place sometime in the future?

Other nice to have stuff (No body parts or interior (seats) needed)
  • RNS-E
  • rear lights
  • wiper mechanism
  • Cluster
  • Seatbelts
What other parts would you save that could be used on the RS?

Appreciate all the input :beerchug:

Norway is sounding more attractive by the day at the moment.

Well.. We are more or less in Lock down and schools, restaurants, all sports and what not is cancelled.

But i find it strange the UK waited so long to take any actions.

Day 9 with home office and trying to act as a teacher for the kids also  Not sure if the kids should fear the Corona virus or their parents the most in the coming days

A beat up 2,5 TDI with manual(if you find one) is more close to £2k over here.
I have a DQT box on hand for £250 that i might go for.

Even worse, email this morning, the THON hotel we were staying at has been closed. Absolutely no chance of getting into Norway and nothing to do once there with the world shut down. Then again, the UK is just the same. Our plans for the UK were scrapped two weeks ago. So, I get to do lots of driving holidays, in self isolation in the car. With fuel prices dropping, it may just be what is needed to fill the gaps.

They sure are, but in Norway we focus on road safety! :bash:

So the police is for some reason out now doing speed controls way more than before.. Believe that is the only way they can get back some of the money that is flying out of the Norwegian Bank at the moment..

Funnily enough I've noticed more police out doing speed traps here, too. Could just be coincidence.

Times like these, you need to cut the people some slack. Soon won't be able to go out at all if when it gets like France.

Still, having said that, it'd be a terrible time to get in a crash and need medical assistance.

Yes. situation is more or less "crazy" here right now. Many Norwegians are owners of cabins in the mountains and by the sea. So they just had new law come in place that bans people from using cabins if they are located in a different county then the one you live in :)((90% is affected by that law) They tried to tell people to go home since the small countys does not have the capabilities to handle outbreaks in those areas. They even closed down all the skiresorts, stopped the trackmachines all over the country, but many people did not go home. So now you will be fined apx £1200 if they catch you in the act

They even closed down the small ferry's tick offices where you pay before you drive onto the ferry to avoid contact between people. That's when i find it strange that the police has increased the speed traps along with the MOT people increasing their checks of cars along the roads.

Strange times....

Love it. Just did a 700 Km drive and only saw one police car. Part of the trip was through a pine forest and I would have sworn I was in Germany (except driving on the LH side). Have to say that I'm happy to be home and not caught up in this in another country with the daily change in rules. Bad enough here.
