Haven't done anything yet. Been looking at rebuilding the parts car. Would love to do it but cost looks like it will stop me. Missing front suspension uprights, ABS module, tail sharft and transmission. Car would also need a full respray. Engine would need a full service. I can do all the work myself but still looking at a lot of cash.
Thanks for the offer Swaggie. I will let you know where I end up.

I have been going through all the boxes that came with the car. Just unwrapped the upper grill and the surround is black plastic, not painted. It's not the original grill as the car is early 2003 and the grill ihas 2004 on it. Did the RS6+ have a black plastic surround or was it painted.
Only markings on the grill are 11 GIU 2004

Maybe a Plus de-chromed grill.

The spares car came with C6 front rotors. It has spacer blocks under the calipers to move them out. They are like new. Any feed back on what these are like on the C5?

Move them out radially? Or axially? Are they C6 callipers? Not sure I have understood the question.

The C6 rotors are a larger diameter.

I know. I have them. They also have a different hat depth. So you have to move the callipers out axially but not necessarily radially.

I think you’ll find that there’s also a spacer between the hub spigot and the bearing housing to push the disk further out. I’m guessing about 6mm.

My OCD doesn’t like the pads only wiping a fraction of the disk surface. I personally would put it back to original. Or put C6 callipers on.

IIRC the C6 disks are 390mm. Maybe 395. My memory is fuzzy.

I think the thinking at the time was that the C6 disks were cheaper than the C5 ones hence the mod. I can’t see it bringing much performance increase without the bigger pads. These days with nice cheap Zimmermanns and Pagids it seems like more effort than it’s worth.

The C6 pads are a bit cheaper, but the callipers are pricey.
