Ian. Where did you purchase it from. Did it come complete with the o rings.
Intend doing this in very near future. Other member advised me to go for the alloy mod instead of new plastic.
Regards Steve.

There are also brass versions available from somewhere in Europe, that's where I got mine some while back.
Despite pink coolant marks I've just not got around to fitting it yet - tricky job on an S8 unless you happen to have the engine out.

Thank you. Will order one.
Wish I had a pattern. Could make them myself. CNC turner by trade. Now retired.

Buy a plastic one from Audi and use that as a model.

I see that you can get plastic, ally or brass. If I was to make one. Would probably go for 316 lstainless steel. Unless there is a reason why S/S isn’t suitable.
Cannot see any reason why you shouldn’t.

Can't think of one. But for the cost of the Buffkin, you might as well just buy one.

best to have a look at the galvanic corrosion chart and then make your own descision. Not every material that has been mentioned is the best choice.

That’s what I was thinking. Instinctively brass seems like a safer choice but some of those interactions can be weird.

I’m not sure the pipe is in contact with any other metal, being stood off by the on-rings.
