Now to get it fitted
And that's when the fun begins....

My Bufkin story started about 6 years ago after dropping the RS off for a MOT & casually mentioning to the garage guys, just as an afterthought, "Oh, while you've got her in, just have a quick look around for a minor coolant leak as I'm losing just a drop every few hundred miles or so, no biggie..."

Ended up 6 weeks later with a not insubstantial bill including new hybrid turbos, race dp's, new head gaskets etc. etc. coz, may as well when the engine's out innit...oh, and a 5 quid Bufkin pipe

I've heard rumours that Grizz at Unit 20 can change the pipe without an engine pull but it's a big ask.

Good luck

Oh no. Sorry to hear that. My annual service is due in April. Will look into bufkin pipe around that time.
I heard it can be done with engine insitu but it’s a pain. Still sooner that than taking the engine out.

Are you planning on making a few copies while you the part in your hands Steve? If so I’ll buy one from you. 👍

Hi Chris. I can copy them as there is nothing difficult about them.
If we can get say 10 members wanting them I will do a run of them.
If we go that route. I will check the dimensions against the detailed drawing kindly supplied by HPsauce.
Either way I will call in at the machine Shop to get a price for making them in brass.
Price for 1
And a price for 10
The one I bought from Poland was £21.67 including postage. So needs to be cheaper than that.

Yeah mine is also on the original. So I guess it’s well over due to change the buffkin pipe.

Despite your vast knowledge on the cars, I feel we don't know much about your car.

I would generally note it down as a "while it's out" type of job that you do as a matter of course.
Not sure I'd pull a motor just for this, I'd be wanting to do a bunch of jobs at the same time - so if can be done engine in, that's great.
I dunno how Grizz does it though - the cooler is a big old lump!!

What's to know? It's a standardish RS6. Just like yours, but a better colour. ;)
