IchBautAuto. Thanks for your input.
Are you saying that the detailed drawing above is the exact sizes of the genuine buffkin pipe.
Cheers mate.

Yes, within normal machining tolerances. Here are my spares purchased directly from Mr Bufkin mid 2020. I'd suggest that the drawing is of the original pipe as there are many features inc rounded O Ring grooves and the additional machining adjacent to the centre barrel that wouldn't be done on a copy for cost sake. An OCD fitter (and turner) making one for his own car would take the additional time to get it just right, as I understand how this all began.

Measured with a set of 100+ year old verneir calipers (uncalibrated) but more than good enough.

Good to know. Any idea what the radius is of the o-ring reservations?

Shopp. Groove width is 2.5 mm
So rad will be 1.25 each side.
Don’t think that it is too critical as long as it’s uniform and smooth to allow the 0 ring to seat properly and form a good seal.

Have ordered 12 in brass to original bufkin pipe drawing.
May take a while as being done as a “favour “ to keep the cost down on this occasion.

Have been liaising with IchBautAuto regarding the o rings. Looks like we are going with viton o rings which are almost certainly a standard imperial size for the original buffkin pipe.
Many thanks Tony really appreciate your time and effort.
