Rear number plate plinth
So i bought my car with the rear number plate plinth colour coded, honestly never really noticed at the time, but it has kinda grew on me over time of having it now, but as the car will be going for some paint in the not too distant future, i had been planning on sourcing and replacing with a standard black one, but im in 2 minds now if i should or leave it colour coded, whats peoples thoughts?
Normally im a OEM or OEM+ kinda person, so its unlike me to even consider this, or is this just the chav in me coming out maybe...
This isnt my hearse, just for reference as we all like nice colorful piccys (same colour though, handy)

I think the standard looks way better.

Shopp is a "stock all the way" kinda guy - but I also think he's right. Black is better.

Mines colour coded. I kind of like it.

Re: Rear number plate plinth
It's not horrible, I just prefer the OE look. Nice photo, though.

It was on H&R in this picture, they were replaced with Bilsteins earlier this year. Thankfully.

My thoughts back in August 2018 when you posted in the Welcome Area:
"Good find, looks well...although I'm not a fan of the body colour rear plate surround mod"
Still the same today; I'm certainly not an OEM stalwart but looks a bit odd to me. Go with what you like though fella, your RS6, your rules

Never thought about it as I have always had black Audis, but as stated, OEM all the way in this instance, just something visually off to me at least.

Re: Rear number plate plinth
I did see one once with the black plinth - and blacked out lights. I thought that looked pretty smart on a black car, but can't remember where I saw the pic.

Re: Rear number plate plinth
Thought as much, its a big standout area and not so much a small detail so its quite in your face and when something looks different from the norm it usually bugs me
Now then, anybody know where i can get a new plate surround for a reasonable price? Or i'll have to gloss black this one, as i dont imagine the paint will come off and leave a nice finish underneath
I remember But if im honest, it looks better standard, just seeing how the masses saw itWeiß-sechs wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 3:12 pmMy thoughts back in August 2018 when you posted in the Welcome Area:

That would be my plan Matt, but just a tint over the foglights to blend them in a bit more, will buy some film to experiment with it and see how it looks

This also describes it perfectly, something different that doesnt look quite rightMr Footlong wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 3:27 pmNever thought about it as I have always had black Audis, but as stated, OEM all the way in this instance, just something visually off to me at least.
Kinda like when you see an 80's icon car that didnt have colour coded door handles and things, but the owner thought it was a good idea, makes it look like a rep in a way... oh gawd, the shame... i'll get it sorted asap lads, honestly
