Has it always done it since you've had it?
My kenwood does this, I was supplied the wrong link harness when I got it. At some point I'll get the correct harness, but the wife drives it more than me so she'll have to put up with it.

Mine doesn't pop when it's turned off, only on. Think the oem headunit has a "soft start" on it, it let's the Bose amp fire up first. I found if I left the ign power unplugged from the headunit for around 10seconds it wouldn't pop. I even had a quick look for a 10second timer relay, then I lost concentration and forgot about it. I only drive it once a month to fill it up with petrol, I don't even notice it now really.

@chunky79 are you happy with your Kenwood? Would you recommend it?
Sorry for being off topic.

I'm in the process of upgrading my stock stereo and looking for a good one.

From my research Kenwood is a good option. But can't make up my mind. All the reviews I've read so far are hype garbage. Actually I've tracked down a site that tells it how it is. I was eyeing the DDX9705S stereo thanks to the review.

Can you tell me how bad the screen glare is? What about the price is there enough value to justify it?

I'm open for suggestions

My kenwood is old now, had it about 6/7 years I think. It's a great headunit imo, but just out of date now.
No idea what the new models are like, Sorry.

I have the DMX7017DABS and it's an awesome unit.

Only downside, is glare. On a sunny day you cannot see anything on it, but then due to the position of it in our cars I think this issue would be the same for any unit you put in it ?

I've got an old Kenwood too. 2014 vintage. Doesn't pop. Also frequently invisible on a sunny day. I hooked up a reversing camera to it as well which is really handy. It was making odd noises but a soaking with contact cleaner has fixed that.

I'd think any of theirs would be fine. Just pick what features you want.
