Best deals for Hotchkis Sway bars

Post by Classik » Mon Aug 19, 2019 1:37 pm

Since I will mount those new Billstein B16 very soon, I thought it's also the good time to improve the car handling with those Hotchkis bars : https://www.hotchkis.net/product/2003-2 ... uspension/.

Any good deal on this product you'd be happy to share here?

Thanks!

Got mine from TireRack in the US back in 2014, really good price and fast delivery (got to be aware of import tax though)
Just had a quick look on their site but having trouble finding them now, maybe send an email to check if they still stock them. Great mod btw.

Thanks for the feedback Weiss! just had a quick chat and the kit plus delivery is already 600USD, not even talking about the income taxes.

There are some sellers on ebay. For example:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-2004-Audi ... Sw4GVYQM2B

Ebay will calculate the customs and VAT before you commit, and you will pay it all up front so at least there won't be any nasty surprises when it arrives.

I like Rockauto for US auto parts, but I doubt they do Hotchkiss.

You might be able to pay someone like Tire rack or Summit to ship to you, but I don't think they are able to prepay all the customs and VAT for you.

Thank you Shopp & Jayjay! As per your suggestion to have a look on eBay, in the end (inc. shipping & custm taxes) we're talking about 818 USD or 738€. Knowing the thing can be had for 510 USD in the US (=460€), that's still a good 60% negative discount ;) I was hoping for a European dealer (I've sent a mail in this regards to Hotchkis yesterday) to pop-up but didn't find any.

I may have a brand new, unboxed set of hotchkis bars for sale soon if it’s of interest to you. Held off fitting them as car may be going up for sale soon too.

You are still subject to import duty of 2.5% if value is under £650 on whole amount if your £390 allowance is exceeded.

Might still be worth it if you are going anyway, Ive had them for years and highly recommended.

And VAT. Unlikely that you would get caught out though.

For Norway, I can bring goods worth 6000 Nok apx 540 GBP in without declearing it.

However, not wanting to pay for oversize luggage. Max total lenght for luggage on SK is 158cm (L+W+H)

And with all the other spendings on such a trip, i could prob order 2 delivered home cheaper :)

Summit do offer a couple of prepay vat and customs options.
Unless you're particularly in a hurry, it's the way to go.
