Just make sure that you get the orientation right. They only go in one way.
If you are doing several just do one at a time. I did all 6 + and - buttons in 10 mins.
I watched a total technic video that says you have to Remove the radio.
Then remove the climate control unit
Then dismantle the assy and push the buttons out from the inside.
Believe me you don’t
Use the thickest feeler gauge you can insert at the top of the button without marking the button or facia.
Insert around 3-5 mm deep
Then lever out.
It will just pop out.
Then just push the replacement button in
Takes 10 mins for all 6 buttons.

Re: Heater controls ?
You should write that in a seperate DIY post and get Ben to add it to the DIY library.

Re: Heater controls ?
Cheers Matt. I am sure Ben will see this.
I did post on this a while back just after I did mine.
I trialed it on the spare unit I bought before I did it to my original unit.
It worked perfectly on both units without scratching the buttons or facia.
And saved hours of unnecessary work.
IIRC I used a feeler gauge with 30 stamped on it
I presume that was imperial.
I also sent the spare good “auto button “ to a member in South Africa (meTsU) who was in need of one.
I even offered to hand deliver it if he paid for the petrol. But he declined ?
