QST in Hayward’s Heath for me...been going 7 years - C6, 2 x B7’s and Golf R. Never had any issues.
QST can do the TCU mapping but want nearly double what MRC are charging :assflash: :assflash: :assflash:

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this response from a local Vag specialist?

Good morning,

Thank you for your enquiry.

There is no need to map both of them on this model. The gearbox used to have to be done in the early days due to the limiters but this can all be done through the engine ECU.

First I’ve heard of it. I struggle to believe that, if there was a way of not modding the TCU, that both MTM and MRC would have missed it.

I could be convinced given a detailed argument, but I suspect you won’t get one.

That's the same thing I've heard. Can't remember the details but it was something about calculating the correct torque values for the gearbox.

I've always used Evolve Automotive in Luton for my remapping.

They are pretty well known for German cars so may be worth trying

When I had my RS6 mapped by Doug at MRC years ago he never removed the TCU. My ECU was a brand new unit but the TCU had possibly be modified by a previous tuner (DNA) as it would do 30MPH in 5th gear.
