Eurocarparts BREMBO rear brakes warning

Post by Nobby » Mon Mar 25, 2019 1:26 pm

Just a slight word of warning chaps. Rear pads looked a bit low so thought I'd try some ECP ones. They have loads available but I stuck to the more expensive BREMBO.

Fitment was lovely, includes anti-squeal backing, new metal shim plates and bolts. Unfortunately the bolts are the wrong size - and have a different thread pattern to the ones fitted to my car (supplied are possibly M8 x1.0mm instead of the required 1.25mm)

Anyway managed to twig that something wasn't right before it was too late and tidied the threads up with the correct tap.

Well see how long they last though......

Oh Lord, I've got some of these stashed for future use....perhaps won't bother then, especially since I've recently read that they combust rather easily!

Crisis, I too have a spare set of the 10144124A's packed in the garage. If it's just the bolts, I'll order OEM to avoid any issues.

Could you not just clean up and refit the original bolts with a little thread lock?

Yeah that what I was planning on doing anyway. Its nice to have new bolts, but wire wheel the old ones clean and some thread lock should be good as new.
