Those are very cool, are you thinking about getting some?
Any idea what the tubular material is and what the welds look like?
These are stainless.
These are the inconel ones in the MRC manual, these were ceramic coated white (because racist).

I’m really thinking about getting a set at the end of the year
This is what they look like under the heat protection
There 2.4k euros bare and I don’t think that’s a bad price to be honest
This is what they say there made from 1.4828 heat resistant stainless steel pipes.

Those look very tidy, not that I'm an expert on the matter.
The inconel ones were £2600 about 10years back. I got the stainless ones made up for £1600.

Re: Exhaust Manifold porn
Do you honestly think they made a difference power wise? I had a tubular set of manifolds on my old 2.7t and they definitely helped with spooling being quicker.bam_bam wrote:Those look very tidy, not that I'm an expert on the matter.

Re: Exhaust Manifold porn
I'm really not sure any more. There have been cars that now make good power without the tubulars but there's probably a point where the log-style manifolds become a hinderence to top-end numbers. It's more a question of how much power do you want to make? When chasing numbers I guess you've gotta do everything.Jayjay101 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 9:52 pmDo you honestly think they made a difference power wise? I am buying these at the end of the year and then ceramic coating them along with my down pipes and turbo exhaust side all in white.

Re: Exhaust Manifold porn
That is actually a Nickel steel rather than a stainless (even better corrosion resistance). So it will have about the same Chromium as a stainless but it will also have around 11% Nickel.

Re: Exhaust Manifold porn
I got Mine welded and thermally covered by a guy in Poland(a whole £1500 - He had a very modded RS6 C5 himself.
Think he eventually blew the engine and now moved to C6 one.
If anyone interested he even made himself an active exhaust from titanium for the RS - Think he still have it for sale.
