Noisy afterrun pump

So, the car seemed to last nearly 6 weeks without causing unwanted heart palpitations. But alas this eve i shut it off after a steady 30 minute commute and the after run pump (im guessing this, noise from under the intake manifold) is making what sounds like a bearing giving up the ghost. Ive had no chance to diagnose it better yet as it was getting dark, first thing ill do is check the coolant level. Has anyone got any other suggestions? I'll also jump it with 12v to check its that making the noise. Worse bit, its only 6 weeks old
