Post by Scotia » Mon Jan 28, 2019 11:05 pm

Hi guys, owned a 04 missano red C5 rs6 avant now 3 years . Very happy motoring today from Glasgow to Kinross today admittedly not holding back the horses on the motorway then on way back around 2 miles from Glasgow slowing down to city driving car dies on me pulling away from traffic lights then after 10 to 15 seconds of no power whoosh power on for a minute then dies when I slow down.? Any ideas would be appreciated been a joy to own but got me stumped. Thanks

Could be a lot of things. First thing to do is see if there are any fault codes then check the requested boost with the Vagcom.

Also FON.

I'd put money on one of the I/C hoses having popped off. Good luck

Not had any time to get near car this week so Just managed to get a friendly local guy to pop out tonight and have a look at codes . He has cleared the codes but we took photos before we cleared codes car is still rough idle but will drive now with no boost at all so was thinking of starting have a look at air box then replace mafs just to rule them out as no boost and rough idle sound like maf possibly . Take it from there I think .πŸ™

P1073 is Air mass meter 2.

Lots of stuff going on there. So that's both your MAFs, your lambda sensors, N80 and SAI system that's shat itself.

Need to see what codes comes back. Some of those could be very old and no longer relevant.

Lots of short to ground and low signal codes. Maybe a part of the wiring harness has worn through or been cut???

Not sure but no noise coming from pressurised fuel pump underneath rear of the car normally hear it prime when ignition on but quiet so checked fuse it’s ok ,not sure at this point .

Mine definitely hums for the first few seconds every time ignition is turned on. Could be your problem?
