I've just found another Bosch 044 in my stash of parts . I'm considering chucking it on and running twins , for redundancy , more reliable pressure and "Because race car ". But before I get giddy and order a bunch of fittings . Is there A enough room and B will the fuel pump wiring throw a massive wobble . When I used too run twins on the cossie's . I used too build a new harness with twin relays and a fresh battery feed . I'm not apposed too doing it but I'm sure I read that the 6's had a fuel pump module. Obviously I could use this feed as a trigger for the relays . But will it screw with anything, ie is there load sensing on this feed etc. Could be going way over board , but why not ey .

Twins will certainly load the existing wiring further than you would want. In my youth of playing with modded jap stuff we used "hotwire" the fuel pump. Pretty simple really, just use the standard wiring as a trigger wire for a relay and run a fresh feed as you said above from the battery through the relay to the pumps. If there is a loading issue then all you need to do is add a resistor to the trigger wire to sort it out...

The RS6 fuel pump module uses different voltages for different load conditions. Just something to bear in mind.

Honestly, I wouldn't. You either can either safely deliver enough fuel at the right pressure...or not. Additional capacity beyond that is just wasting time, effort, money and so forth. Bit like if you put hotter coils in than the motor needs....

This won't make a difference if you use a relay as the relay just sees a voltage and triggers. It doesn't care if the voltage is changing.
As others have said though it really is overkill and unnecessary complexity,

<geekmode>Are we sure that's how the FP speed controller works? The ones I've looked at before run full volts, but use pulse width modulation to regulate FP power, not variable voltage. IIRC electric motors don't like running @ reduced volts?</geekmode>

That's what the technical documentation says. I haven't tested it myself.

If it was PWM (as on my XC90) then that would make using relays even more problematic.
But like you said, there are no gains to be had unless the engine is being starved.

Not hugely more complicated. You can get relays that will accept a PWM for a trigger. They just use a short delay on trigger open to compensate. As long the delay is longer than the pulse frequency it will just stay open. But either way this is still hugely unnecessary....
