Classik - thanks for taking my advice the right way.

Must admit that I hadn't spotted you were in Paris - and I'm guessing/hoping that the dealer was a local one to there!

I'd still recommend getting the car to a reliable wheel dealer, (even in Paris!) so they can actually try the wheels on and take responsibility for their advice.

Good luck (or Bon chance!!)

Dave

Maybe I haven't searched enough but looks like there are not many, and those who are generally mentioned in forums and talks are not located around Paris. As Shoppinit rightly mentioned, it's probably a good time to Shop in the UK. Need to organise something with the family ;)

In return, thank you for the good spirit and help, appreciated.

Just put the OE wheels back on once every 2 years for the MOT. :)
Missed that one! Yeah, why not having a set of wheels for every season, or depending on the mood of the day, I'd love that! ;)

@Daveperc: following your advice I just contacted https://www.revolution247.com/ to see what they could do for me, even remotely. In parallel I will also start searching for RS4 B7 wheels as suggested by Shoppinit.

BTW, in your opinion what is the minimum weight those rims should be able to handle, particularly at the front where most of the car's weight is located? Would you say 700kg per wheel to be safe, more? From memory the car weights like 2 tons (metric kg).

Which rims? Or did you mean tyres?

Again sorry for bad English.. I was referring to the wheels like for instance Revolution247 proposed a set of Ispiri wheels ranked for 690kg which I found (wrongly?) slightly too light for the car.

Not your English, just never really seen weight ratings on wheels before, but I'm no expert. Surely that weight must refer to the static weight because the dynamic weight would be much greater, even for a fairly light car.

If that's the case then 690 should be more than enough. The RS6 is about 1860Kg empty. Call it 2000Kg. Those wheels would support 1400Kg at the front, give or take. I don't believe that there would be anywhere near that at the front.

The VIN plate will give the maximum allowed loading of the front and rear axles. If the max weight is less than 1400 for the front, you are definitely good to go.

If you're really in doubt then your MOT place should be able to give you the weight of each axle when you put it on the suspension tester.

Also, the parts catalogue specifies an OE winter tyre with a load rating of 95. This equates, by curious coincidence, to 690Kg load.

Makes sense. Knowing I'm coming from an Italian aftermarket chewing gum type of wheels which tend to warp very easily, I confess I'm getting easily paranoid about those figures, and I'm tempted to lean to stronger models... BTW the VIN plate says 1250kg max for the front, so I should be safe. Thank you !

These are the RS4 wheels on the RS6. I think they work:

What about some Rota GTR?

They look nice indeed, very close to the JR3 model actually, but unfortunately with the same drawbacks : they are et42 and need spacers for both the et and the concavity. So there is more than a good chance we would end up with a wheel protruding outside the skirt...
