Morning all, anyone advise on part numbers or any useful upgrades over OE?

Cheers.

There was a thread on this a few months ago.

There’s a website surefireonline.co.uk they have uprated internals and the head is smaller on them than normal ones I’ll see if I can find a picture of them fitted-like I said engines running smoother and feels smoother when you put your foot down too

That's a great price for 8, I'll take a look on their site.

Cheers Shop, I'll check that thread when I get a min, intrigued as to why it's a corker....

Hmm..they don't seem to list C5 RS specific. Did you go RS4? Don't suppose there's a difference anyway.

I spoke to them directly and your right there’s no difference in them-think you can get them on eBay though them too

Thanks Shop that was a fun read.... Although "a few months ago" was actually over a year ago. Haha.

There is a lot of false info in there. The guy "defending" himself was almost right in what he was saying but he was talking about small engines with massive boost which quickly run out of ignition energy at the plug due to massive cylinder pressures and do need a stronger spark to ignite the fuel. In reality the coils in our cars are not the limiting factor by any means in terms of power production so you are not going to see any measurable improvement from changing them.... That is unless the coils are old and degraded, in which case a new set of standard ones will make the same improvement as the uprated ones.

Good old case of "Post hoc ergo propter hoc" me thinks....

Nice to see a new product,
Might have to try them out, althogh given that R8 reds work at over 150bhp per cylinder with 2 bar of boost I doubt it will be on a customers engine. And frankly they are primarily a cheap and easily available replacement which is often as handy as anything else thats "better".

Oh yeah, that would be me, getting bored of some of the knobs this place has that can't read or understand anything that hasn't got "MRC or Milltek" do it like this written on it, most are ok but theres a few that can't see anything even with a map !!

Peace.
