What is wrong with my car...

The engine is as dead as Theresa May.

In an attempt to remain positive...

Post by R56WUF » Fri Sep 21, 2018 10:57 am

Well as the car heads to Unit 20 on Monday I’ve decided to offer a stunning prize of a chocolate bar to whoever is correct in predicting the reason behind my non starting RS6.

Prize is the real deal and even includes postage.

Disclaimer. In the event of the engine being as dead as Theresa May (and I’m not even sure that this is possible on several levels) then I will most likely lose the ability to package and post said chocolate as I’ll most likely be stuffing my face with it in a desperate attempt to lift my morale.

And there you were, wondering how you would cope without the excitement of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway this year...

I'm in to enjoy the lead up to the delivery of said chocolate. I don't believe postage to South Africa would be viable, haha.

I think you should post of a photo of this delicious treat to wet our appetites.

I’m going for a jammed starter motor cog. Either burnt out and seized or the actual cog is broke jamming the fly wheel.

A brave tactic being so specific...

If you’re right I may send you a large chocolate bar as a reflection of your detailed answer!

An early ‘cover all bases’ answer. I’m liking your style.

Oooft! Someone has gone with the engine. I sincerely hope that they don’t want to win the chocolate...

I know Grizz sometimes frequents the forum so in the interest of fairness, Mr Grizz (and family, friends, and pets) are prevented from entering the competition unless they vote before Monday!

My bet is something to do with the wiring / big fuses / battery. Even if the motor was stuck, the decent battery should be able to hold 7.5v under load. The way the dash dies entirely just doesn't seem right.

I think by default (due to the nature of a one stop catches all type of answer) I can only allow one stab in the dark entry!

Fantastic!

Not sure sure it's a birds nest but I have a feeling it's something electrically based, so went wiring.

If it is this, give it to Richards and I'll just hang around his mouth while he eats it.
