@Ian - yeah, I've had a starter motor burn out before. Drew mega amps, but didn't turn the motor over.

Well the car is heading south on Monday to Mr Grizz. Everyone is quite happy with that development so all is good. Will give me an excuse to take Mini Me to Chester Zoo when I pick it up.

Depending on what the fault is, it may well come back with some more power. I guess as the engine won’t start, just by being able to drive it will achieve that but I’m sure I’ll be persuaded into a few more go go horse powers...

A chap who I’ve used before is doing the flatbed recovery. Lanark to Cheshire for £250. Good chap so if anyone is looking for good service at a decent price then let me know and I’ll share his details.

I’ll definitely keep everyone updated on what Grizz finds. I’ve said to Grizz that there is no time pressure from me so updates will follow as they happen.

I really appreciate everyone’s comments. What a cracking forum for a variant of a car that is at least 13 years old.

Oh dear

You're in good hands though, hope you get sorted soon. Not for the faint of heart these motors....

If something is urgent I’m the first to say. If it’s not I do the same. That way when it is urgent it gets dealt with urgently!

In the event of a no deal, and March 2019 coming before a diagnosis then I may chase things up :beerchug:
