F125 Switch
After a long and tedious diagnostic with much help from the guys on this forum which I greatly appreciate I think the issue I have with my gearbox is the F125 switch as when I start the engine the gear selector indicator goes straight block out all options in red and eventually after moving car or trying various things I can get the car to select a single gear option. I contacted Audi for the cost and availability of a spare switch but was quoted £200 plus Vat so can anyone recommend someone who can supply discounted OEM parts if such a company or person exists?
Look forward to hopefully get some good contacts
Cheers

Re: F125 Switch
I think companies like TPS can supply them too, but pricing is pretty consistent.
There are 2 versions, an 8-pin and 10-pin connector, with somewhat different prices.
My S8 needed the later 10-pin version, but that was still well over £150; the earlier 8-pin costs more.

You might find an alibaba special, but be prepared to replace it again a few months later.

Re: F125 Switch
I personally wouldn't touch those with a bargepole!
Maybe the RS6 is easier, but for an S8 there's a lot of work involved so I'd only ever get OEM

That was kinda my point.

Re: F125 Switch
Thanks for your comments guys, as I stated, no intention of using cheap eBay Chinese copy will only fit genuine Audi part but hoped someone may know somewhere that would offer discount of genuine Audi parts

Good luck with that, but don't get your hopes up.RS6Rottweiler wrote: ↑Thu Sep 13, 2018 9:26 amhoped someone may know somewhere that would offer discount of genuine Audi parts
In the D2 A8/S8 community replacing the F125 switch is a sadly common (and bloody difficult!) activity, no-one there has ever mentioned a good source of genuine parts at a discount.
