Faultcodes returning

Post by Siph3r » Sun Aug 19, 2018 2:06 pm

Good day.

So on 16 of July according to my VCDS Logs' i got the Below faultcodes simontainously. Deleted all and they stayed away untill today..

See log's below.

Any ideas? CEL comes on when these codes appear, but car drives like all is good, and I find it weird that they stay away for such a long period and then suddenly return all at the same time.

It's an odd one. It's hard to see how they could be linked. Perhaps a bad connection at an earthing point, but a quick look at the wiring diagrams doesn't immediately suggest a common connection with all those sensors.

What's your alternator doing? Is it outputting at 14V all the time when running?

The Bank 1 efficiency isn't intermittent. Maybe that's what put your MIL on.

I would keep the Vagcom connected and run the car some more. See what comes back first. Or whether they call come back at once.

How often is the car used and is it left on an intelligent trickle charger while it's not being used?

Catalyst errors won’t come back straight away unless left to idle for a while or driven stop start often. Not sure if the other errors might be the same, maybe egt one. Fan error has been intermittent on mine, one day it would come back straight away another it’d be a few days.

Engine been steam cleaned lately?

Hi.

Car is not on any Charger, normally only taken for a weekly drive, but has been used every day since first week in July due to Vacation with the Family :)

Was driven apx 650 miles between the faults reappearing.

Will continue to log, as there might be a possibility as mentioned above that more than one of the codes is actually permanent and only one of them is causing the CEL.

Never steamwashed, only by wiped of by hand :)

I've started using a paraffin gun (on a cold engine!) for cleaning engine bays, followed up by an air gun to dry it off. Gets all the <beep> off, evaporates quickly, but doesn't force water into all the nooks and crannies.
