Fuel gauge not working

Post by ShazRS6 » Wed Jul 25, 2018 6:15 pm

Guys the other day the fuel gauge started playing up

And then yesterday put £40 in and needle only moved about 1mm

On miles showing up 5-10miles

Any idea what I need to do to fix this please?

You will be better off buying it. It is only about £250 from memory for a basic one. And it will be the most useful thing ever!

Mine does this too - it's fine from full tank to about 1/3 then goes pie shaped from there. My theory is that it's so expensive to run, people just top it up with 30 quids worth and its worn out the sender on that last bit of the range.

Do we have multiple senders in the c5?
Current: RS6 C5 Avant, E60 5 Series, '78 Mini (Queued for restoration)
Past: R56 Mini Cooper S

If it's like the C6 A6 it may be worth watching below video for ideas on why it's not working properly.
