May I kindly suggest you open a dedicated thread for this unrelated topic? Admittedly I'm partly faulty as I asked a question... ;)

haha sorry, back to the topic.I bought 2004 2.5tdi quattro as a donor as i had plan to use 2.5 box with dual clutch off 3.0tdi.Had plan to change everything incl propshaft, diff, driveshafts etc.I'll see how much that V8 will cost me and ifi need to rebuild it i think i still go manual but with different engine.

Agreed! Not suggesting a flush would even come close here! I had a Rover V8 motor as bad as this once...good luck with this one, hope you've caught it in time.

For UK guys, I've used TTV racing for an Audi V8 => 01X gearbox flywheel and their workmanship is awesome! Price was very good too.

...However, if you really want a manual then nothing anyone says is really going to sway you otherwise.

I'd say to each his own, and tbh I'm not that much interested in pure performance as such, but by the 'experience'.
If you enjoy driving - as we all do here I suppose- you understand there is a world of finesse in this clutch pedal, letting you decide exactly how and when to deliver the power to the wheels, just by playing with the slip.
Although it's probably true the latest generations of automatic gearbox would beat the manual equivalent in a 0-60mph contest, an old automatic gearbox like the 5HP24 always feels annoying and 'distant' to me. So yeah, even when driving a 'barge' like the RS6  i prefer to keep the stick! :)

Might be easier just to buy a manual car. E92 M3 springs to mind.

Yeah that is a hard car to ignore. Not as characterful or reliable as the E46 though.

True. Brutal quick, though.

Good plan, stops them getting their sticky fingers and muddy shoes all over the Recaro seats. You could even put the dog guard up to make sure they can't climb back in to the main bit of the car!
