Radio and Lights Issue

Post by EireRS6 » Thu Jul 12, 2018 11:35 am

Hello there,

I have an issue at the moment where my radio won't turn off when I remove the key so I have to switch it off on the button each time I turn the car off.

Also, if I turn the car off leaving the lights on, there is no beep or warning sound. I'm assuming there should be?

Can anyone help with the above? Are the issues linked in any way?

Cheers

Sounds like the key-in switch is borked on your ignition switch.

Odd question, but if you accidentally leave your handbrake up, does the car beep at you? Come to think of it, I'm not sure if the handbrake uses the same buzzer or not.

So I just need to replace the ignition switch?

You can probably test it with the Vagcom.

Do they ever come up for sale on here?

Seems to be loads of types available. Is there any you would recommend?

Cheers

I have the 2017 version of the VCDS cable which is unlimited VINs. Reference to https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/vchv2_ent/

I'm not sure who the Distributors are in the UK, but locally in ZA, https://shop.hexdiagnostics.co.za/produ ... 2amqk21c63 is what I have.

Try ilexa.co.uk or Gendan.

My OCD means I must own unlimited versions. :-/

There looks to be a 3 VIN from Gendan for £225.
