Well I’ve had the car now 5 years & done 33k. I’ll check the service book I think it was done c.100k.

From the conversation with the guy who Is a diagnostic expert, he would assume it’s timing. But we’ll know more when it’s moved to another garage and they do a physical compression test.

Out of interest, what are the characteristics of the misfires (had a look back and couldn’t see it mentioned)?

If there is a fault with the cam sensor / wiring (guessing the ecu loses the signal when it shorts to ground) it’s not going know what position he cam is and then surely it’s going to cut fuel and ignition to that bank right?
