Nav plus problem

Post by gje999 » Fri May 25, 2018 6:51 am

The nav plus system on my 2003 c5 is playing up. When I enter the correct code it won't accept it and goes into safe mode.
It seems to be a common problem. Auto electrician says it's the connection between the car and the unit and says it needs Audi to fix it.
Before I sell my house to sort it with Audi, does anyone have any advice? Is it the unit or the car?

Not heard of that before. Can't be that common.

The RNS-D doesn't need to communicate with the car to be unlocked. It can be unlocked just with 12v supply attached.

Are you sure it's the right code for the unit?

If you need a duplicate unit with code, there is one in the classifieds

Bargain. If I didn't already have a spare I'd have this.

/just noticed it's from a B6. The facia would have to be swapped for the RS6 one. No biggy though.

Is it definitely an RNS-D? That needs a permanent +12v supply on a specific pin, usually labelled "safe" (or S) as well as the usual power connections.

So could be a wiring/connector problem if you definitely have the correct code.....

Cheers. I did pick it up as a problem reported elsewhere so thought it was common. Thanks for the advice, It's definitely the right code. So sounds like a wiring problem. Cheers
