The HPI check says on the advert that its has not been reported stolen.

But didn't it get stolen, although briefly, a few years ago?

Or does that just cover the current status of the car?

Done, local to me but not sure there’s much I could achieve by viewing it and giving him grief.

But this was not necessary as the 2 guys were gents

Believe that was the first one (that subsequently got killed by water).

Hi

Yes it was stolen just over five years ago, and then recovered five days later - hence not listed as stolen on HPI. I did however have to get a flag against the vehicle cleared on Experian before I could advertise on Autotrader! In some ways wish I hadn't!!

So first one (AD52WHW) drowned in a flood, rebuilt by MRC at a mix of insurance and my cost, but eventually died as water had got into the crankshaft thrust bearings and knackered them - it was sold and was going to be turned into a track car I believe. All the mods (and the interior) were stripped off and swapped onto....

Second one (OY04TWF) bought from Jambon (great car - thanks!!) - this was then stolen and recovered (not too much damage), run happily for five more years before being scammed off me at 205,000 miles!

Who says RS6 ownership is dull!!
