No washers on my upper arms and didn’t see any in the elsawin. Did they mean washers for the top mounts? (Pretty big ones there)

Nope, not top mounts. My car failed it's MOT on control arms. One each side, I cannot remember if they were top or bottom and I cannot check as I took all my paperwork with me and left it in the car for them to look over.

I did have a thread on here asking about parts at the time, I'll see if I can look it up.

Here's the thread...

500bhp will be the ball park figure but as someone else said the temperature might not be in your favour at the moment. Not sure MRC are with their dyno. Some tuners will make adjustments to compensate. Others will leave it giving a proper reading. Either way butt dyno is way more important than the number on the sheet and it will feel great I'm sure! If you really want 500 then just wait for cooler weather and go to a local dyno.

So things have now escalated !

Turns out that all my top mounts were Knackered, so all have been replaced now. Apparently it now drives and handles spot on, although my final bill is going to be about a fiver short of 2k :-(

As for the Mapping, they said something about the cars being old now and every one is different. They said I may only get 470 out of it ! But on the flip side they said I may get over 500. I have to admit, if I get about 470 I will be kinda pissed, IMO it's a waste of money at 650 notes for only another 20 horses.... I'm hoping they are just playing it down, as I want close to, if not over 500. I don't think and extra 50 horses is to much to ask for ?

Don't see why you wouldn't make over 500 with a custom map. Suspect they are playing it down because some cars with not great compression might not do so well.

So....

Turns out Torque converter is not locking, which they knew before doing the map having found the fault codes etc....

When I asked about the map and the issue, I was told might as well map it anyway as it will eventually go, weather it's mapped or not.

So now they have mapped it and it only made 477 ! And 866 torque, now they are saying they are likely going to have to take a bit out of it to avoid it slipping to much.

So it appears I am going to be paying 650 quid for pretty much nothing. I did mention this to them and was told... Well.. we spent the time on it. But if you knew about the issue before hand ? Why go ahead and map it ? Kinda pissed in all honesty. Looks like I will be picking the car up tomorrow so will see what happens.

I have no idea, they didn't tell me. Still awaiting a call as to when I can collect the car.

Making very good torque, only 14 Nm below mine and I'm a long way from standard (turbos etc.etc.)

Can't quite understand why the power is so comparatively low though. If your engine's twisting out 866 Nm I'd be expecting to see a lot more than 477ps :?

Maybe something to do with the TC not locking properly but you're still seeing very good torque??

I'm no expert but 866Nm torque sounds seriously out of specs for the transmission capabilities (440Nm?). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZF_5HP_transmission.

Yeah, I'm not sure why the balance is off by so much. I know it's the torque that creates the issues for the boxes, but surely for torque to be that high, the BHP should be higher along with it ? I'm not entirely sure how the two are linked.

I haven't heard from them at all today and they said they will update me when they have more info. That was yesterday, early afternoon. It's going to run into tomorrow now it seems as it takes me around an hour to get there.

Tomorrow is my day off, so if I don't hear from them by early afternoon, I'll give them a poke, but in all fairness their contact has been very good.

The RS6 has the 5HP24A - not a 440Nm limit. The RS6 was 580Nm straight out of the box.
No matter where you go, there you are.
