you could here a huge sucking/whooshing sound, the car would then judder and jerk all over the place and go nowhere
Check the inlet/outlet pipes on the I/C's - that's the usual culprit, and you need to get hold an physically pull as they may look to be on but are not

Sounds like a very large boost leak so I would guess Dave is on the money with I/C piping!

Thanks for the advice, I'll try and take a peak this weekend and see if it's anything obvious.

I've had the same a couple of times.
Nearside IC inlet pipe both times. You've got to tighten the clip till you think you're going to bust it and then tighten it some more! Esp if running higher boost like me.

Easy enough to get to without taking bumper off etc ? Must be able to reach up from the underside on a jack maybe ?

Straightforward enough once the undertray is removed.

Everyone has this problem at some point.
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

So I got my call today.....

Have to admit, I was dreading it !

Turns out I actually got a pretty good one. Apparently the list of problems is usually far FAR longer than mine !

Intercooler boost pipe had come clean off at the top. With that all back in place, I once again have boost ! All fault codes cleared away and nothing has returned. No faults found with anything else, all related to the boost pipe which may have been slightly off for some time, hence all the fault codes, one lean bank, one rich bank etc....

Other issues...

The people that did my upper arms decided not to use any washers ! So they are going to redo that, as it should have been. My knocking from the front end is a bottom joint/arm. A small weap from the rear of the engine, but apparently this is nothing major at all. Again slight leaks from the rocker cover and something else (I cant remember) in the same are. And finally a coolant control module is faulty, so my fans run most of the time. This apparently is kinda pricey.

So all in all, not bad at all !

Oh... And I am missing an intercooler shroud and an undertray, the undertray I knew about.

So I have given the go ahead for the front joint to be done, to redo the arms with washers this time and also a Engine and box Map.

Overall, pretty happy !

Sounds pretty good for a 15 year old car! Can't complain about that list at all.

Lol, oh well as you have the car to replace a washer you might as well get the mapping done :-) Peace of mind and more power, happy days

Great result  Doug said the same to me when I was there for final tuning of my hybrids etc....usually there's way more issues.

Not sure what the final map will be, just going for a stage 1 as I don't currently have any mods. Not even an Exhaust. Until I have other bits apparently anything more than a stage one is a waste.

I would like to see over 500. Possible ?
