Where’s the bufkin pipe?

Post by Jayjay101 » Sat Apr 14, 2018 8:38 pm

Hi guys
I’m clueless as to where it is! I know it’s by the oil filter somewhere(I think)and every goggle search comes up with other engine types-any help or links to a diy would be great.

Oil cooler on the oil filter housing. In an impossible to get at place, obvs.
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper
"The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair."

Didn't Someone say they'd figured a way to do it with the engine in by removing amount and the alt? .
I did mine when I had the engine out so it was easier, I'll Check how its holding up when it comes back out .
Cheers Al

Its behind the oil cooler in the filter assembly and engine mount area.
There's a good thread on its placement somewhere. I'll see if I can find it

It's a very poorly design for a part that is obviously going to need servicing isn't it . I assume you have to cnc ali version to refit ?

Awesome , I've not looked at mine for two years now , but I'm due an engine drop soon so I'll have a look at it just out of curiosity. They certainly seem like a fit and forget affair though.
