Post by Jayjay101 » Sat Mar 31, 2018 4:18 pm

So I’ve started my engine pull today thought I’d check my cambelt before pulling(I have a new kit waiting to go on) and this is what I find!Imagethat and the fact it’s really slack(Q BAM) it was done 4 years ago and only done less than 10.000 miles in that time too Image

Yeah, there really only is one right way to do it, and tipp-ex aint it!

I do put a dab on for sanity sake - but the locking pin and bar FTW. Even then, I find there's measurable slack between the belt and the teeth, so you gotta make sure it's pre-loaded in the right direction.

Couldn’t resist!!

Had I kept my C5, the cam belt was next on the list, Tim said it wouldn’t be pretty if we’d done it, a lot of people do them on the cheap and don’t replace everything as they should.
