Hello all,
My RS6 has developed a recent oil leak, pic attached.
Does anyone know what that part is and how easy it is to replace?
Thanks

Re: Oil leak
If my memory serves me correct, looks like the oil pressure sensor and by the mangled state of it, someone’s already tried nipping it up. It’s got a crush washer on to seal it up. I did mine when the engine was out but I’ve got a feeling it can be done with engine in situ. Have a search for oil pressure sensor on here.

If you can photograph it, you can get at it...
If you can't go to the track, bring the track to you.

I'm assuming if Audi sell the bolt and washer separately, that will be the quickest and easiest way to get me back on the road.
Re: Oil leak
It's a banjo bolt. There's a pair of washers, 1 each side of that stainless block. The block houses both the pressure switch and the oil feed to the turbos. The bolt is a bit delicate, so I suggest you don't make any further attempt to tweak it up or it might well shear off.
You can't replace the pressure switch "in situ", but you might be ok to do the banjo bolt, even if you need to rock the motor a little.

Thanks, definitely won't be trying to nip it up.MattV8 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 11, 2018 10:37 pmIt's a banjo bolt. There's a pair of washers, 1 each side of that stainless block. Managed to order the parts earlier from Audi, although it took the parts adviser ages to find the right diagram.
