Bleeding intercooler
Afternoon gents.
Just come out to the car and found a great pool of oil under the offside intercooler area.
Presume the intercooler is pooped? Anyone know what the cost of a fix is?
I’m deep in the depths of a house extension so short on car funds!

Airtec recore them:
http://www.airtec-cooling.co.uk/product ... r-service/
£599 however if you put “airtecdeano” in the voucher box you get 10% off
Did mine and the finish is superb

Re: Bleeding intercooler
Then again I’d say a pool of oil could be a split or popped boost hose, remove the undertray and have a look?MountainMutant wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 1:26 pmAfternoon gents.

More likely to be oil cooler.

Yeah. That's exactly where all the oil cooler unions are - bet one of them has let go.

Re: Bleeding intercooler
If its that big a pool of oil
And it IS from the intercooler then thats the least of your problems !!
Hopefully it is just the oil cooler

Re: Bleeding intercooler
It'll probably be a hose - and my guess would be a crimp on one of the hoses. See my DIY for all the bits you need to make your own new hoses in stainless braided teflon etc.

Re: Bleeding intercooler
Oil levels are still ok. Maybe I exaggerated puddle. About 9 inches diameter.
Ok to drive the few miles to garage?

No ones gonna say yes, cos if the pipe blows off and you lose the engine, you’d be proper grumpy. If it were my car, I’d be comfortable I could diagnose and make enough of a temporary repair to ensure it’s safe to move....but I dunno what your skill level is, and only you can be the judge.

9 inches is huge..... I would not even entertain starting her. Remove the undertray and identify the leakMountainMutant wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 7:27 pmOil levels are still ok. Maybe I exaggerated puddle. About 9 inches diameter.

Re: Bleeding intercooler
Chances are that you're oil cooler pipes and/or hoses are corroded, common fault. They may look like mine did a few weeks ago:
