I usually buy mine from Tayna - and if my stalking skills (and memory) are correct, so does Shoppinit.

I wouldn’t go by ECP recommendation either. I needed a battery for my A3 and not only did they list the wrong size it was twice the cost of what I got from Carspares for the correct battery and same brand.

Hopefully it's not the input shaft to the trans that's snapped off.

Varta FTW.
+1 on the Varta's! My original Varta from the factory in my Polo Sportline lasted 7 years. The replacement Varta has lasted 6 years so far and still seems happy.

From the DIY section, but its personal choice which brand you get , obviously a good brand costs more, but should last longer ( or have a longer guarantee).
Battery
110Ah
Varta VA0 DE 000 915 105 AK
Dimensions: 394mm long, 175mm wide, 190mm high

The Varta from Audi is 208. The banner from GSF is 165.The Bosch one (390mm 110) from the dude at Euro carparts is 138. Euro carparts are taking my money i think.

Is Tayna an online company? Im just going to grab the Bosch from ECP for 138. No postage and just down the road. Thanks for advice though, same goes for everyone. Nice one.
Will keep you posted on the BANG when it goes in. Had deadlines looming so left her all alone to rot for a cpl of wks. Bless her rubber socks!

I wonder how long it will take them to find out the problem 😬

Council have also said i can not have two permit at one address either. I give up sometimes.
Which mean to park it i have to have the car put in someone elses name or sell one car. I do <beep> loads of miles so i need a banger for that! Fkn can not win sometimes. Its a sign i think that i must give the big 6 up. If i do someone will be getting a bargain. At the moment she is parked elsewhere but its not perminent. I blame the bitches....there are always exceptions but i finding one is the tricky part....

Jordell reckon its my gearbox internals.

It was rebuilt by A1 on 96 and its now on 108k. Im actually a bit down today but hey ho lets fkn go!! I also told them they can go fk themselves on what they just charged me to look at the car and got it down to 50 quid. Wont be back in a hurry.

Unreal, some people think your loaded and try taking the piss.

That sucks. How much confidence do you have in their diagnosis?

I would say fairly confident. The box i think will need looking at.
I will check some of links suggested and research a little but im in no rush at the minute and i will be really really busy up until May 15th. Im not made of money and the best quality but affordable option is best for me. I want it fixed so thats a good thing, i do love these cars.
As you mentioned uprated TCs sound like a good thing with extra power and the ‘10 kit’ is something ive never heard of. Im hoping it may just be the torque convertors....someone or company that loves and respects these cars are needed... those are worth paying.
