I've gone through a motor, when pulled to swap for another oil pump was seized solid... same thing going down a bypass and let go sized first 4 con rods nearest the oil pump! I've priced up building the old one even with a second hand crank it's 2+k in parts

So
Got the turbos done.
Wagners on,
Got redesigned oil cooler and hoses - pic. Should get the oil temp in check :biggrin3:
The new(2nd hand) RS6 Plus engine was tweaked already - ported intakes plus couple other bits already done on the engine.
Engine tuning should begin this week - subject to the engine running properly

Interesting. I wouldn't have thought of mounting them like that - but it looks good.

Hopefully it won't take too much cooling away from the main rad. My gut feeling is that it will be OK as long as you don't go to Saudi Arabia.

Is that one cooler for the engine and one for the 'box?

I am planning to modify the bonnet slightly - do a Bentley Continental style vents

Yes
They are - they are two separate coolers just mounted like that

IMO, those vents look nasty. Even on the Bentley.

Some ideas here:

Most of them are pretty nasty, though.

What’s the pressure drop on those coolers over OE? They look massive!

That's a good point. Also without heat exchange with the coolant, I'd be a bit concerned about over-cooling the oil.
