Spacers and rubbing ?
Spacers and rubbing ?
10mm spacers seem to be what most go for with standard wheels.
My question is do you get any rubbing ? Looking at mine, pushing the wheels out 10mm looks like it will bring the wheels mighty close to the arch with a couple of fatties sat in the back ?

I get a little on absolute full lock on the front. Never noticed any on the rears.

No rubbing on mine with 10mm spacers. You get the usual grumbles from the diff that sounds like rubbing, though.

Re: Spacers and rubbing ?
Oh, that's probably it then given I've got the same spacers as everyone else.

Re: Spacers and rubbing ?
Grumbles from the Diff ? Is that a bad thing ? Doesn't sound very healthy
Re: Spacers and rubbing ?
Nan, all Quattros do it. In fact, I think it's actually the LSD diff not letting enough differential between the front and back when you are manoeuvring on full lock and causing the tyres to rumble.

Re: Spacers and rubbing ?
Ah ! I've noticed that already ! Now I know what it is haha.
Re: Spacers and rubbing ?
Ok, I have enquired about H&R spacers and have been told that I am going to need 12mm or over on the rear due to the size of the lip on the hub ? 12mm is going to push things out a little further than I would like. I want the car still driveable with no rubbing etc....
So is this correct ? Everyone else seems to be running 10 all round that I know of ?
Is it just the H&R that have this issue ? Is it even an issue ?

Re: Spacers and rubbing ?
Eh? Lip on hub? Who did you talk to? No problem getting and using 10mm hubcentric spacers for the rears.
