Boost leak found, ECU reset??
Boost leak found, ECU reset??
As above I found the hose at the wastegate loose and some oil on it, do I need to reset the ECU now that the hose has been adjusted also what is the complete procedure to do a boost test with Vagcom.
Thanks

Re: Boost leak found, ECU reset??
You don't have to reset the ECU. If you clear the ECU DTCs (even if there are none) then it will reset your trim values to zero. Or if you just drive it for a bit, it will learn the new trim.
To do a boost test, log groups 002, 114 and 115 in turbo mode (for more data points) then do some WOT pulls. Save the log to csv file. Then you can make a graph in excel. I think VCDS lets you do a graphical representation of data, too, but I never bother. I just use excel.
Then you can do some driving around and see what you get in group 032. That's your trim values. You might want to see what they are before you reset your DTCs.

Re: Boost leak found, ECU reset??
Thanks again Shopp will do. Should the engine be at running temp before I do the WOT? I am guessing it will.

Re: Boost leak found, ECU reset??
Definitely. And your oil. Make sure your gearbox oil has had time to warm up properly, too. You can check that with the Vagcom if you want. Might as well since it'll be plugged in anyway.

Re: Boost leak found, ECU reset??
Same as the oil. At least 80 degrees.

Re: Boost leak found, ECU reset??
Don't know if that's good enough if not I will do it again if you want.
Re: Boost leak found, ECU reset??
I wasn't expecting you to paste the file into a post.
Can you upload the csv file instead? Make it more readable.
I managed to extract the boost info, though. Something not right:

lol yes will try my best.
Re: Boost leak found, ECU reset??
You're not even making the boost a standard car would make.
