Only skinny, long-dead, stiff ones.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: 2004 Audi RS6 Plus C5 Avant - South Africa
Yeah, I've done around 50kms in it now. Mostly all very chilled and keeping the revs below 4000RPM. I did a single 3rd gear pull with the family yesterday on the open road, wow. I think this is going to be a fantastic journey with the RS.

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 Plus C5 Avant - South Africa
Haha, yeah, I had a laugh when I saw my RS parked next to it. After a few delays with getting the car onto a car carrier (800km journey from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth where I live) I was only too happy to see it here and my mate was quick to take an initial shot of me next to it.

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 Plus C5 Avant - South Africa
Immediately after leaving the car carrier depot I required some fuel (although the photos of the car being dropped off at the car carrier company showed just under a 1/4 tank, when I picked the RS up, it was far lower than that), so my wife snapped this shot of me pondering. Haha

Later on, on Friday evening I decided to check tyre pressures and noticed that they were all around 2.0bar. After seeing comments stating to rather bump up to 3.0 bar over sticking to stock pressures, I popped into my local garage and pumped them up.

You'll be visiting a lot petrol stations.

Re: 2004 Audi RS6 Plus C5 Avant - South Africa
Can't have been that many RS6+'s in that colour combination.MeTsU wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2018 9:05 pmHi Everyone,
I've lurked this forum and particularly this section for quite some time.
I am based in South Africa. I am currently in discussions with a dealership to purchase a 2004 Audi RS6 Plus C5 Avant.
The VIN/Chassis Number: WUAZZZ4B85N999283
It is number 283 as you can see from the VIN. I believe the original owner moved to South Africa and imported the car. From the vehicle history I got from Audi here, I can see it labels at REBUILT (I suspect it being the term for placing onto the system) in late December 2009. It's believed to be one of the only RS6+ C5's in South Africa.
I was hoping anyone could point me in the right direction - is there still a Registry going for this particular model? I found a thread with some info at a point. Or is there someone with access to a dealership that could run the VIN and give me some history on its first 28000miles. It's currently on 54450miles.
I would love to find out more about the car when it was still living in the UK.
Thanks very much.

Thankfully, this isn't my daily. But yes, when I do drive it, I can certainly see it munching through fuel - it was accepted though, when I was considering the purchase.

Nice plus there
Do you have RON98 or more over there?

Sadly, we only have RON95 at the pumps at our Service Stations.

Sucks. At least get it remapped to get the best out of 95. Or look into octane boosters. Most are snake oil though.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of OB's. Regarding remapping, due to the fact I will be parking off the beast most of the time (especially for the immediate future) I'm going to focus my spend on the RS on neating up things and fixing things that are bugging me.
When it does come to remapping, I am going to have to do a lot of homework, as I don't have the largest selection available, when it comes to the RS - Revo would probably be the normal go to for most here. I custom mapped my Polo 1.9TDI PD130 myself, but I don't have the time or knowledge of the RS6 motors yet to even consider that now.
