Id advice you to get yourself a battery conditioner when youre parking the black beauty most of the time :D

...and your tyres fully loaded, but ive read you already at 3 bar...
Yeah, I've got a Ctek MXS 5.0 which was living on the Polo. That will soon be going to a new home  So once that is done I will be leaving the RS to have time with it's new friend, the battery conditioner.

Regarding tyre pressures, for those of you dailying or using your RS6's often, what tyre pressures are you running on the 19's? And those of your on 18's? My wife has said I am not allowed to work on the RS until the Polo is gone. Once I can, I plan to put the car in the air and pull the wheels off, have a good look at all the suspension pieces etc. I never truly feel comfortable until I've had a good look at everything. I'm pretty sure my suspension geometry is out, so I'm going to have to get that checked.

Ive run them (275/19) with about 3 bar, pretty hard ride but i liked it.
Hes now garaged for about 6 months or so.
Really need to take it for a spin soon to get things warm and oiled again...and to get rid of the flat spots...
If you can't go to the track, bring the track to you.

Oh wow, ok cool. I see you running 19x9.5 ET30 with 275/30/19 tyres. What are clearances like? Any rubbing or changes you needed to make to make them fit?

I've got a set of Braid Forged wheels that have been sitting in the garage for quite a few years. I need to check specs again but I think they are 18x9.5 ET57 - I really need to check the Offset though. I can run 15mm spaces to test with (I have a set in the garage) and see how they work out.

Do you have a rides/build thread perhaps? Thanks Mavada.

No, the Bimotos and tyres fit niceley, without spacers.

Great to hear there's no rubbing and good clearance. Will have to wait for that fitment then.

So I noticed that the little LEDs in the driver and passenger doors weren't flashing when the car was locked. I whipped out my non-genuine VCDS cable and tried to access 35-Central Locks as I wanted to code in the alarm been in any case. Sadly, I'm getting a no response from the controller.

I tried 46-Central Convenience as well for good measure, also no response from controller - I didn't expect this to work due to the age of our cars but I'm a little worried as to why the Central Locks module is not responding. Anyone know where it is located (passenger footwell I am guessing)?

I have access to a genuine VCDS cable so will scan with that before I start dismantling.

I also need to replace the brake light switch, as well as take a look as what is catching the brake pedal. I noticed I can get it to physically click before depressing, only if I pull the pedal towards me to get the brake lights to stopped running permanently.

Yeah, this is only the start of a very long list I am creating. Haha.

Brake Light Switch will be ordered tomorrow. Possibly even the Gearbox oil and filter from ZF directly - crossing fingers that the details I gave them (VIN, gearbox code, etc) will be enough to get the right filter.

Youre gonna do the box oil and filter yourself?

Yeah. Just need to find a small hand pump to fill the box again with oil and I am good to go.

Yeah, spot on. I am trying to find something like this locally. Worst case, I might order and send to my Mum who's in Norfolk - she's coming to visit in May, so might need her to mule that and some other odds and ends I might find along the way. Haha.

I unfortunately ran out of time this evening to get stuck in but I got the necessary stripped in order to take a quick look at my Brake Light Switch and what's causing a click on the pedal feel.

It looks like brake pedal booster clip mount - I'm suspecting part number 1J0721169 but I haven't had time to open up the parts catalogue yet - is damaged and not clipping into the brake pedal itself. Also looks like the ball from the brake booster isn't sitting properly within the clip mount.

I'm suspecting that the previous owner or someone yanked hard on the brake pedal and pulled it towards themselves to stop the brake lights from "staying on". I'm not sure how else the clip would've broken.

I'm going to have to do some digging to see how I can go about replacing this part.

There is a special department in the design centre at Neckarsulm. The doors to the office are locked and the walls inside are padded and soundproofed. People take the long way round to avoid walking near it for fear of hearing the bizarre and animalistic cries from within.

From whence came the design for the brake pedal switch.

And the cruise control commands.

And the air box.
