I think anyone on here would say just take it on the chin and take a trip down to Unit 20, then again depending exactly where you are it’s still a 4hr ish trip

I use GI Motorsport in Kilmarnock for big jobs and the minimum servicing required for the AA parts and labour cover. Used him for the last 10 years with various cars and been faultless.
Unit20 would be a nice option, but 450 miles round trip and an overnight in a hotel automatically adds £200 and more importantly 2 days of my time lost.

Thanks for the input benh but 400 odd miles for a service just dosent make sense.
Gripper thanks for the heads up on G I, that's the name I got from a friend with a Porsche and good to know you have used them aswell.

That's the gotcha! Your choices are limited if existing knowledge is a prerequisite!

Not sure which part of Ayrshire, but A4Audi in Clydebank is excellent. They’ve been looking after my B7 RS4 for the last 5 years for servicing, MOT and repairs. Andy and his team are top notch, workshops are spotless, all Audi trained, prices competitive, service is better than dealer could ever hope for! Courtesy cars a plenty should you need one. I come in from Argyll and make a day of it in Glasgow.

Planet Performance in Dundonald.

Although they are Jap specialists one of the mechanics there is an Audi 'fan' and has worked on my car several times. Ask to speak to Kevin.

There's also a four wheel rolling road on your route at the industrial estate where Massey Ferguson was should you want to test the power or map it.

I'd recommend Audi Technik Centre. Owner previously headed service dept of Audi dealers at Braehead. They are currently in Bishopbriggs, moving to Dobbie's Loan central Glasgow in March.

Thanks for all the suggestion's lads, the problem I had has Been sorted thanks to Mr Shopp. Turned out it was a broken vac hose and after following Shopp's advice pipe has been replaced with a silicone pipe.
It's good to know that there are a few choices in southwest Scotland for our cars.

I'm in that area of the country too. Would be good to meet a few members and see their cars.
