Oh - one more note. On the aftermarket locks, the microswitches are a standard off the shelf part you can get from RS, Farnell etc with a "good" spec - if you're that way inclined.
In the audi locks, the microswitches are audi specific and therefore hard to replace! Part of the housing is non-standard.

I just coughed up at stealers. Drivers door lock was £170 for me I think. Anyone know how involved it is to change?

Just fitted these tonight. Quite happy with them.

No power coming to the drivers door side though. Anyone have any ideas why? All other doors are fine.Image

Ya, I got them from the seller above.

Funny timing. It took a few tries to close my drivers door today but the puddle light started working!?

Had this in for a major service recently and was advised the AC needed regassing as it wasn't working. Had never used it so didn't miss it until the heat arrived over the past couple of weeks!

So I got it done today at kwik fit but it's made no difference. The ECON light stays on permanently and from reading some threads in here it could be a sensor/switch.

I'm a bit disappointed as I would have thought this would have picked up on during the major?

Is Vagcom my next step?

That's why you don't get it done at Kwik Fit.

Probably the high pressure switch. On a schrader valve so easy to change.

Have a search through here.

Sounds silly however have you given the button a firm press?

When I first got my RS I thought Switch was broken however it was just a bit stiff... now works like a dream

Not long back from a trip home to Ireland with the old girl. She behaved perfectly.

While I was there I replaced the front brake discs and pads, replaced AC pressure switch so I now have cold air, replaced transmission oil and filter and replaced 2 x rear parking sensors.

I also got it detailed so she was looking nice before the 250 mile drive back to Scotland!ImageImageImage
