My Mugello Blue RS6
Re: My Mugello Blue RS6
Shopinnit, just checked this morning and the interior lights don't come on when I open the driver's door.
I never noticed it before because the lights come on when you unlock the car and when you turn the engine off.
New door mechanism??

Re: My Mugello Blue RS6
I think you can get the switch itself but not sure about replacing it. I think getting the mechanism is easier job. Someone will confirmEireRS6 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2018 9:21 amShopinnit, just checked this morning and the interior lights don't come on when I open the driver's door.

Re: My Mugello Blue RS6
I've opened them and fixed them before. It's not too hard.

Don't suppose you have a part no for the switch?

Re: My Mugello Blue RS6
Nope. Sorry. But they are fairly standard IIRC. Thry might just need resoldering.

£173 for a new door mech. I think I'll live without the lights for the time being.

Ridonc. There are cheapo copy ones on ebay. There's been some discussion recently about them.

Re: My Mugello Blue RS6
RS parts are obscenely priced. It’s almost immoral the prices they charge for them
Re: My Mugello Blue RS6
Not just RS. You'd have the same ridiculous prices if it was a TDi.

Re: My Mugello Blue RS6
Just to add - I was a big fan of the non oem door locks - they're just a generic non RS6 part after all. However, eventually, both the microswitches failed.
The mech unit itself was nice, but the microswitches were junk.
So if you want to save some £, go with the non oem locks but replace with some proper microswitches. For me, in the end, I was just patient on ebay until I eventually found BNIB OEM ones at less than half price.
