I would think these days that loss adjusters would struggle to argue the toss that the RS6 value is peanuts, if you have a specific spec and mileage etc then it should be easy to prove what current prices are for well sorted models. :nogarors4:
It's a difficult one as the price it's been valued at is below the value you could purchase an equivalent condition RS6. On the other hand it is above the Glass guide and equivalent.

I had a call from tracker earlier that it had been recovered engine hot and body panels damaged after some criminal activity. Apparently the interior is a mess and has been torn apart.

I believe it led to the recovery of multiple fast Audi's all in Coventry last night.

Interior ripped up trying to locate tracker?

Could it be worth buying it back off the insurance?

Do you want it back? I've never fitted a tracker as I'd personally never want a stolen car back. What's the deal now with the insurance? Now it's found do they make you take it back or do you decide what you want to do?

It'll still be down too the insurance is it worth repairing.
However , interior damage will ramp the costs up very quickly and if the parts are no longer available it'll be a total loss straight away.
If there is engine damage due too low oil from the theft , I'd be supprised if they even entertain a repair.
It's a shame , but I really wouldn't want mine back . Even with new Interior . It'll always have a stolen marker against it .

My head says I don't want it back but you don't buy a C5 RS6 using your head.

I've told them I don't want it back as it may have underlying faults.

It has quarter panel damage and broken windows, so I've been told. Brakes will probably be shot as well and no doubt the wheels and tyres fooked.

The thought of scrapping what was an immaculate car before those tosspots stole it annoys me.

As I'd stopped using it as often if I end up with it again I'd probably take it to work and leave it there until I needed it. The Queen is generous at work and provides a perimeter security fence topped with razor wire and an armed guard 24/7.

Don't take it back. It'll end up a noose.

Sadly if the insurance want too repair it . You don't get a choice these days, you have too have it back .
We have a golf R in the compound that was stolen recovered with very little damage and the guy is refusing too collect it now it's repaired . He has a very large storage charge awaiting him and his excess too pay

If they repair then you can always sell it and get a different one. Once you've insisted on a full engine inspection that finds lots of things needing doing and a gearbox strip down then it would be written off...it will be the new category NS probably. Which is written off, no structural damage so it might not take the hit on value as badly as being the old C or D which didn't really tell you anything.

It'll be written off anyway. Just one Recaro and a door card would probably be enough to write it off before you even consider the body damage.

Just seen it and taken photos. I'd be surprised if it's not written off.

There is an upside of this if there are ever any positives.
They stole my vehicle and due to its age got sloppy. They used it for a job and assumed it had no tracker as it had been a week since it was stolen.
Now a full chop Shop has been caught full of Audis with workers still there dismantling the cars.

Notwithstanding the CPS letting them walk as normally happens, 30 - 40 people have their cars back including another C5 RS6 owner whose car was about to get an upgrade courtesy of my smashed beast when the Police came a knocking.

I suppose every cloud etc... it seems this may have been the group behind all these thefts in the North Warwickshire area..

That's good news at least.

These organised scumbags need long sentences in nasty prisons.

I wonder how many spares sold on ebay are basically from stolen cars?

My conspiracy theory. I reckon the police were already stalking this gang and knew that OP’s car was traced to that location via its tracker. But they were waiting for the “heads” to be on the premises before they took the scumbags down. It’s the only reason I can think of for the tracker to take a week to be found. It would be a shame really cause if the cops would’ve hit on them earlier OP would have got his car back in one piece. Only my thoughts.
