im new to this, i have just purchased a beautiful rs6 c5 avant but the bose system works but dose not seem to be as loud as expected, i have had other audis with the bose and the sound has been good but this vehicle lacks it and was wondering if anyone has had the same problem? if so what is the best way to sort it?
any help would be appreciated

Have you got a loon or avant? Were the other Audi's loons or avants? Were the other Audi's newer?

Very hard to answer your question really, as we don't know how loud your system is. Has your hearing got worse since you last heard an Audi with Bose?

The others have been saloon but of the same year or and 2years newer they were an a4 b7 & a a8 d3 but both sounded tottaly different to this avant the base was nuch stronger,

No it still has the rns-d i was trying to jeep the car as close to standard as i coukd but u have thought about putting a doublin din unit in

I'm interested in people's thoughts on this one as I feel mine is under performing, it certainly doesn't have as much base as my old a6 which didn't have bose. The sub is working, just lacks punch.
Maybe the amp is on its way out....

The loons oem bass sounds better than the avants oem bass, that's what a smaller boot does for you.

Out of interest, how does the bass get out of the boot on the loon? Is the porting for the air to travel?

Yes, there's a big space for the airwaves to travel, it's called THE CAR.

On the avant it's tucked in to the side of the boot. Is the subwoofer for the saloon actually in the car then?

I remember when I had my RS6 9 years ago, the bass wasn't that punchy compared to a a6 i px'd,which also had the same setup (rnsd and Bose) after many dealer let downs finally found the issue, it was coded incorrectly. Camberly Audi had a similar model car in for work, so,they copied the code, put that code in mine and the Bose came to life. But this was on a saloon. I will try and find the code I may still have it somewhere.

Also, i used Vagcom to code my Bose to think I have cloth seats, which makes it a little louder with far punchier bass. Was very impressed with mine after that!

But have the settings been altered ?
