Any one point me in the direction of a s/h or refurbished ABS pump control unit (pn 4B0 614517 AD)? My googling turns up quite a few hits but all showing out of stock. I'd rather get a replacement unit than have my car off road for a few days waiting on mine being refurbished.

Theres 3 variations on sorting this problem -
First one is to source a 2nd hand unit from a breaker and have it coded - usually about 250 quid + cost of coding
Second one is to have your unit attempted to have reconditioned - search the site - don't send to BBA reman, they will claim they don't have stock but will be able to be able to remanufacture it. Once they have your unit, they will then call to tell you they cant, but an exchange unit has mysteriously turned up and is available at double the original quoted price.
Third unit is to order a new one from Audi for £1500 less dicosunt.
I went with option 2, and subsequently told them to stick it as they were at it.
I then gambled with option 1, because im tight and grudge paying 1500 quid for an item that IMO wasn't worth the money.
The gamble paid off and the money I saved went on new intercoolers.

Thanks. Dave
I too am pursuing option 1 but wasn't turning anything up through usual sources and eBay at present...

This
oneis the cheapest and sold by the person with the best feedback. I'm tempted - apart from the second picture. Can i swap that part from mine when i have it changed over??

can't really answer that other than to say the garage told me so!
They gave me 3 options, a new unit at £1400, a refurb unit at around £200 but my car would be off the road for around 10 days or they would fit a s/h one if i sourced it. They said they would be able to test it before fitting and suggested any of the three listed above would be fine. I'm up against the clock a little as my MOT is due...
